Jog-a-Thon
One of the fundraisers that H.S.A. hosts is our annual Jog-a-Thon. This
is a fun-filled family event that is held in mid October. It is our
largest revenue generating event of the year. Students and their
parents collect pledges from friends, family, and local businesses.
Business sponsors receive mention in the weekly Jog-a-Thon newsletter.
Depending on the level of the sponsorship, business sponsors may also
receive mention in the church bulletin and their name on the school
marquee for a week.
There are weekly contests between the students with prizes awarded to
the classroom that brings in the most money. Each year a different
theme is chosen for the event. Our 2008 Jog-a-Thon was themed after the
Olympics. All students wear their Jog-a-Thon t-shirts each week, as
well as the day of the event. T-shirt colors are assigned to each grade.
The day of the event, students run to the sounds of a D.J. for one
hour. Families are invited to join their children during the event on
the field. Raffles, pre-ordered dinners, and bake goods are available
to parents and families. Students are treated to a dinner with their
classmates for doing such a great job!
This is a highly successful event that is made possible by many
volunteers, donations, and lots of enthusiasm!
