Parent participation has always been a critical part of our program. Our goal is to provide opportunities for getting everyone involved and create a greater sense of community.

The FISH program is designed to:

  • Support our school's philosophy, goals and objectives which strive to:

    • Provide quality Catholic education for our students

    • Model commitment to the Gospel values

    • Foster on-going faith formation for children and adults alike.

  • Create a spirit of participation by celebrating the talents of each family, and the importance of their contribution to our school and parish community.

  • Increase the involvement of all adult memebers of our parish school family by providing opportunities for parents or guardians to become better acquainted with one another and our school and parish programs.

F.I.S.H Program Details

  • Each family is required to complete 40 hours of service/involvement per year, with 10 hours being directly school-related. A minimum of 20 hours of FISH credit is due by the first reporting period. Activities may be chosen from the lists of both school and parish opportunities.

  • Each family is responsible for logging and submitting their hours on the FISH tally sheet included in your registration packet. Extra copies will be available in the school office. You may also download a copy in our "Forms" section

  • Tally sheets are due in January and May according to the schedule listed in the FISHnet handbook. Hours not completed will result in a $10 per hour fee which is due and payable to the school each reporting period. Late fees will be assessed as necessary.

  • FISH is a "parent" program. Volunteer service by St. Irenaeus Parish School students may not be credited for FISH hours.

  • Since the program is mandatory and a condition of enrolling your child(ren) at St. Irenaeus Parish School, the program is seen with the same seriousness as the payment of tuition. Fees owed more than 45 days may result in students being suspended from school. Families not meeting the program requirements may be asked to withdraw from the Fish in Bowlschool.

  • Families experiencing personal hardships in meeting FISH requirements may request special consideration. Contact Barbara Maxon, the FISH coordinator.
