Mrs. Bohm's Mathematics for Grades 7 and 8
Homework:
- Daily homework is given as a review of the current lesson.
- No late homework is accepted, unless absent.
- Students are encouraged to read the next lesson the night before to aid in
learning new terms.
- Homework grade is based on 5 point daily maximum - name on paper, work
shown neatly, homework completed, homework corrected in colored pen,
homework turned in to teacher.
- Must be completed in pencil without the use of a calculator unless
specified by teacher.
Notebook:
- Due on the day of the test, not accepted late.
- Grade, most often, based on a 4 point daily rubric - date, lesson title,
notes are neat, and notes are complete.
- Notes may be done in ink and colors in order to aid in studying. (Yes, I
said studying - math is a subject that needs to be studied.)
- Notes are taken daily directly from the overhead - I have all notes in a
binder if student missed something and needs clarification.
Extra Credit:
- None available on quizzes.
- Tests may be reworked, in red on a separate attached piece of paper, for
half credit each if completed correctly.
- Phschool.com can be accessed from home and online quizzes taken. The
grades sheet can be printed and turned in with the notebook on the day of
the test. Only one quiz per lesson and one chapter test.
Tests and Quizzes:
- Usually at least one week notice is given, sometimes even more.
- Must be signed and returned the next day (tests not returned the next day
are NOT eligible for the extra credit).
