assigns us a date. We visit the Santa Ana College Planetarium while we study the
Solar System. We have our date for the third field trip to Knotts Berry Farm for
their westward movement tour. It's May 16th.
HOMEWORK POLICY
I believe homework is important because it is a valuable aid in helping students
make the most of their experience at school. I give homework because it is
useful in reinforcing what students have learned in class, it helps them prepare
for tests, teaches responsibility, and helps students develop positive study
habits. Homework is listed on the front board and reviewed daily. Each student
is responsible to write down assignments in the homework notebook.
I will assign homework Monday through Thursday nights. Homework should take no
more than one hour to complete, not including studying for tests or working on
special projects. I will give a one-week notice to study for all tests. Students
should read a book of their own choice at least 20 minutes a night. I expect
students to do their own work, asking for help only after they have given it
their best effort.
Each night please check their book to see if their work is complete. If it is
complete, please sign their pad. Please write questions or notes to me on that
page. I check every morning for signatures. Missing homework or a signature may
result in a detention. Three missing homework assignments an/or signatures will
result in a detention. If there is any reason that a homework assignment has not
been completed, please write a note to me on the date work is due stating the
reason why it has not been completed.
Web Site
Every Sunday night I up date my website with information on homework, calendar
items, and general announcements. There may be changes in the homework - always
check with your child for the correct information. You can reach my website by
going to the St. Irenaeus School website and on the faculty list, click on my
website. You may also reach it by going to teacherweb.com and go to school name
and then to my name. Either way, make sure you save it in your favorites or
bookmark it for later reference.
